Fires are still burning, but things are getting back together. Here is a Wilson power contractor from Canby, Oregon working for Idaho County Light & Power putting in new poles and putting it back together.
As I wrote before, firefighters are here from all over. A big shout out to the Navajo Hotshots, they are like machines tearing through the underbrush building fire breaks!!! One of the hardest working crews I have seen…ever. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get pictures of them.
Here is some firefighters that have been out working from different area. I talked with the guy on the left (a shout out to him, I failed to get his name), he is from Lolo, MT, his partner is 2nd from right. Great guys. The others are as well I am sure, but didn’t talk long with them. They have been out all day and now being dispatched from place to place observing.
The fires are unofficially contained from my observations in our immediate area, but Church Canyon is still moving and flaring up from time to time. The Woodland Fire is moving slowly closer to our direction and there is a fire (I am unaware of its official designation) moving toward the Shenandoah subdivision. Crews are working there cutting breaks, lines, and standing by with water trucks.
