I am not a photographer by any means or stretch of the imagination…yet, I am a writer. Hmmm. What is a writer? It is someone who, oddly enough, writes. Even more odd, it doesn’t have to be good writing for you to be a writer (that would be a good writer). Thusly, I transpose the same principle to photography. I enjoy writing (I enjoy it even more when I hear that someone read my book) and I enjoy photography, whether I am behind the lens or not. I created this page in tribute those attempts…as it seems I am metamorphosing into an amateur. All I need is some tips from some of you and I can move toward amateur-second-class. 😀
I have recently been looking at cameras. My wallet is scared, but I will eventually make the upgrade. It would be nice to hear some feedback from some of you great photographers out there about the equipment you use and why. Not the arguments, just the gentle prods and sales pitch. What camera do you use? Why? What lenses? What features are important for a beginner? If you could narrow it down what would be your THREE BEST tips (notice I didn’t say “secrets”…their safe).
UPDATE: We were blessed to be able to get a new camera using points on a credit card. It is a Canon Rebel EOS T3. Great beginning, but I can already see why people go to higher models. I am not there yet, but am sure having a LOT of fun with our new camera -something we have waited for three years to purchase! Yeah! Can you tell I am excited? I am. So look out everyone…Now I look like a crazy tourist! 🙂
Each time I meet someone that does photography they get pestered with questions. I stumbled across a great HDR (High Dynamic Range) program that will let you download and use for free (+watermark). Many of you may already know about it. It is called Photomatix. I LOVE IT!!! Super fun…
Your comments would be much appreciated!!!
